Prehabilitation — proactive strengthening before injury occurs — is the most cost-effective investment a runner can make. Ankle and Foot Stability Exercises

Attach a light resistance band to a fixed point and loop it around your forefoot for these exercises. Perform 2 sets of 15 repetitions each:

  • Resisted dorsiflexion: Pull the foot upward against band resistance. Strengthens the tibialis anterior — weakness here contributes to shin splints

Loop the band around your ankles for these standing exercises:

Programming the 20-Minute Routine
